Suzanne Benton and Jennifer Rasamimanana, the Cultural Affairs Officer at the American Embassy |
Suzanne made this statue in 1972, after Jacqui Ceballos , then Eastern Regional Director of NO, asked her to make a paper mache statue of Susan B. for a demonstration at Times Square. Someone else made the paper mache statue, Suzanne made two statues of Susan B. One is in Paris, and the second statue is owned by the Susan B Anthony House, 17 Madison St , Rochester, NY. It was donated by collector and feminist Vivien Leone.
